Understanding BSF Snapchat Planets – How Do They Work?

Hi everyone,

I recently came across the term BSF Snapchat Planets and I’m a bit confused about what it actually means. From what I gather, it seems related to some feature or trend on Snapchat, possibly linked to friend interactions, streaks, or some kind of gamified system.

Can someone explain how these planets work, how they’re earned, and what significance they hold? Are they purely cosmetic, or do they impact your Snapchat experience in any meaningful way?

Any detailed explanation or tips would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!

BSF Snapchat Planets are part of Snapchat’s Friend Solar System feature for Snapchat+ users. They show your top eight friends as planets orbiting around you. The closer a planet is to the “Sun” (you), the more frequently you interact with that friend through snaps, chats, or streaks.

The BSF Snapchat Planets feature works by automatically ranking friends based on your interactions. Each friend appears as a different planet (Mercury = closest friend, Venus = second closest, etc.), giving a fun visual representation of your friendships. While mostly cosmetic, it can encourage more engagement since frequent interaction affects planet positions.
